The South side of the Pacific coast offers a great number of places fit for hiking tours through the rain forest, including the Manuel Antonio National Park near Quepos or the Corcovado National Park or the Osa Peninsula between the Pacific and the Golf Dulce.
Smaller and not so well known places, which have a lot to offer, are the Hacienda Barn or the Piedras Blancas National Parks, the Golfito Wildlife Refuge, the Terrata Sierpo National Wetlands or the Research Centre "La Gamba" of the University of Vienna with the " Rainforest of the Austrians".
